Steps to reproduce:

see what happend.

Actual results:

With thunderbird 115 I encountered the following problem: this was not the case with version 102.
I have about 400 mails in my inbox, I'm also busy archiving now.
If I go down about 30 emails and I move an email there to the archive folder, I shoot about 40 emails down into my inbox.
And I have to scroll back up to archive/delete the next email.

If I pick up one of the first emails at the top and archive it, I just stay in my place in my inbox.
Looks like around 30 or lower is the problem.
I have done Folder Repair but has not helped.
Mail is expiring. Newest at the top, oldest at the bottom.

Windows 11
Thunderbird 115.2.2 (64-bits)

Expected results:

go to the next mail which is one below it.

Summary: After moving a mail to archive folder, it goes down 40 mails in inbox. → After moving a mail to archive folder, it goes down around 40 mails in inbox.

Does this still reproduce for you in version 128?
Please let us know.
