To reproduce: Open mail news and do a search (for emails you don't care about) that results in more than one email;select the first message and while holding down the shift key, type the pagedown key. Expected behavior: All messages from the one selected to a page down are highlited /selected. Actual behavior: The messages that would normally just be selected are selected and deleted. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021214

I see this with linux trunk build 2002121308, but 2002121205 is fine probably a regression from bug 75584

ok, I'm backing out part of my change for bug 75584, the shift delete part. I'll morph this bug into "shift delete doesn't work", as my change to back out the part that causes this breaks shift delete. I'll add comments to what I found while debugging.
fixed. shift delete is now broken. that is now bug #185867, and I'll make sure that when that gets fixed, we don't regress this. thanks to the reporter for catching this so quick.
