Steps to reproduce:

Create a Table in an html-e-mail

Actual results:

Creation of an old-styled table.
Changing a table is not intuitive and user-friendly.

Expected results:

Tables are often part of the content of an e-mail, especially in the business environment.
Partly visible for table objects and partly invisible as formatting help.
The process of creating, formatting and resizing a table in Thunderbird is outdated, too complex for most users and not user-friendly.
The look of the default tables has not fit today's design ideas of visually appealing table objects for a long time.
The entire program part for table creation and editing therefore needs to be revised, modernized and adapted to today's expectations, so that even people with less IT knowledge are able to insert tables into e-mails in a simple and visually appealing way. This also includes the format options for text content (font size, font color, bullets, alignment, etc.).
