User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/17.0 Safari/605.1.15
Steps to reproduce:
- Download Thunderbird.
- During setup login to my Google Account that is secured by Google Advanced Protection.
- Entered Username and Password, no issues. A Google "Sign in with Google" window within Thunderbird then pops up.
- I am asked to once again enter my Username and Password.
- Then I am asked to insert my security key.
Actual results:
- After inserting my security key, I get a message that: "Chrome Extension not found" with a link to "Install extension".
- When I click on Install Extension it gives a "404 Error" message: "The requested URL was not found on this server."
- I cannot "try again another way" because when using Google Advanced Protection it only allows logins with the security key.
- Out of curiosity I did try the "Get a one-time security code" at https://g.co/sc and as expected the 6 digit codes do not work because of Google's Advanced Protection.
I am unfortunately stuck and cannot add my Google account to Thunderbird.
Expected results:
I would expect being able to login my account with my security key.
Although I have Firefox as my default browser, I am unsure what browser is being used by the pop-up window in Thunderbird. It looks like it might be Safari. In which case I am using the latest Safari 17.0.

The "browser window" is an internal Thunderbird window. If you're getting something else, something is wrong. (And obviously, Thunderbird couldn't use a chrome extension.)
Yes, you are right, the browser window was indeed an internal Thunderbird window.

So you have sorted this out?
