RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1855611

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/118.0

Steps to reproduce:

Main email pane cannot be shortened to less than a list of 10 emails.

With my big fonts that leaves almost no room to see the selected email.

Before version 115, I could reduce the number of emails shown to 6 or less.
This is a major regression and I am currently trying to discover how to install a previous release -- why does Mozilla make downgrading so difficult, especially when they don't bother testing at all the new releases.

I noticed this bug literally seconds after the auto-upgrade to 115.3

BTW the forum shows an unacceptable-for-most-users workaround which is to hack the CSS. I am downgrading asap until this major regression has been fixed. Do you not have UI test suites to prevent this kind of obvious regression?

Actual results:

Can't see enough of the current email because can't reduce the list of emails shown to less than 10! Try that with big fonts and Tbird becomes unusable.

Expected results:

Should have been able to read current email on the main window.

Sorry if I sound upset. I am upset at such obvious regressions which reflect the fact you did no useful manual testing at all before imposing this release on everyone and did not let us know how to easily downgrade.

Suggest you test using big font sizes in the future and have some manual testing by competent folks who would bother to try changing the pane sizes in the window. No one did that before release. Shameful.

Yes, this has occurred because the minimum height of Message List was increased and this has resulted in quite a few Support Forum requests for help because people cannot use the Message Pane to see the message content. It has seriously effected usability.
Please go to this Support Forum link for for easy to follow instructions on how to fix the problem.
I have received many compliments that the instructions are easy to follow even for people who would never think they could do this kind of modification.
