When changing folder with 'n' shortcut, thunderbird 115 does not see unread emails in the new folder (whether to advance question is asked before TB starts receiving the messages from the imap server?)

Steps to reproduce:
I have TB 115, several folders with unread messages in them.
When hitting 'n' while reading the last unread message of a folder (A), I get asked whether I want change to next folder with unread messages (B) (this is the intended behaviour).
The folder is changed to B then I get asked whether I want to change to next folder (C), even with unread messages in the current folder. It seems the question is asked before TB starts receiving the messages from the imap server.
Actual results:
without hitting 'n' once more I get asked whether I want to change to folder C
Expected results:
I should have been in folder B, either on an already read email, or on the first unread one, with 'n' going to next unread message in this folder
Version of TB is 115.3.1 (64 bits) on linux
