User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/117.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
- I launched the Firefox browser.
- I opened a YouTube video in the browser.
- I continued to open two additional tabs in the browser.
Actual results:
- The browser immediately consumed approximately 400MB of memory upon launching.
- The memory usage increased to around 600MB when a YouTube video was opened.
- The memory usage continued to escalate with each additional activity, reaching up to 800MB and beyond.
- The Firefox Content process was observed to consume a substantial 1.6GB of memory in the Activity Monitor.
Expected results:
- The memory consumption of the browser should have been proportional to the number and complexity of the tasks being performed.
- The Firefox Content process should not consume such a substantial amount of memory under normal browsing conditions.

Not sure where to file this bug. Sounds like a general complaint about memory consumption, not media specific.

When was this memory report taken? As far as I can tell from the memory report, while it was taken Firefox was not using the amounts of memory mentioned in comment 1?
