When exiting Phoenix, cookies are not written out to cookies.txt. See also http://www.mozillazine.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2885 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Log in to Yahoo Mail telling it to remember your username for next time 2. Close the browser 3. Go back to Yahoo Mail Actual Results: username and password not remembered Expected Results: cookies.txt updated (or created if not existing)
Also reported on Linux. First sighting was 12/14.

*** Bug 186187 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
i figured i might as well vote! :) as soon as any of the devs take a break (hehe) from the holidays, this would be my #1 requested fix. it's kept me from installing the newer nightlies, which kinda sucks. :/ i like having current versions; they're so fun to try to mess up! :D

IMO this is not a Major bug but at the very least a Critical! (loss of data) In fact I think it's a Blocker (Blocks testing work by beeing a general PITA) that absolutely MUST be fixed for 0.6 Milestone.

I went back to Phoenix 0.5 because of this bug. Of course now I have the memory leak problem to deal with. I won't be testing any new versions unless this problem is fixed. Was this problem fixed in Mozilla? Would it be possible to back out the offending merge and then rebuild on Windows? Maybe I should try a build one of these days if the development environment isn't too big.

Blake's checkin on 12/24/2002 21:10 fixed this for me, can someone verify?

I will try this out at the office this afternoon. I'm living with the memory leak problem for now as the cookie bug is worse than the memory leak at the moment. I hope this is fixed [and other bad bugs aren't introduced] as I've been looking for something stable and reliable for a while now.
Seems to be fixed by Blake's checkin at 12/24/2002 21:10 Now WFM Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021225 Phoenix/0.5

I installed this with my old 0.5 profile, fired it up, checked my cookies and they were there. Shut Phoenix down and then fired it up again and the cookies were still there. So it looks like the problem with the file getting wiped out is fixed. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021225 Phoenix/0.5
