User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/115.0
Steps to reproduce:
In version 115, the Supernova look is somewhat lacking....
Firstly, I very much appreciate the improvements, but I feel that there is enough to do.
-
Shortcuts: are missing in very important places, for switching toolbars on and/or off.
-
Missing graphical settings for toolbars: for a move, for on/off...
-
The Menu Bar cannot be moved, the same is true for the Unify Toolbar. The Menu bar is usually at the top...
4.a) Accessibility: The Unify Toolbar is not accessible (my blind and partially sighted friends have reported this). This causes them great difficulty!
4.b) Accessibility: Generally speaking, in Thunderbird 115, accessibility has deteriorated a lot, and the previous methods are much harder to implement, whatever they are. For example, sending a new message -if I turn off the Folder pane toolbar- can be done after beating through a lot of menus. It feels as if the new release's functionality hasn't been reviewed at all by an accessibility developer.
Actual results:
I had experienced.
The attached picture shows the status I have achieved. I am clairvoyant.
- In about:config
toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets
false > true
- Thunderbird profile directory > (new) chrome directory
Step to chrome > new file named userChrome.css.
The contents of the file should be this:
#unifiedToolbar {
visibility: collapse;
}
Restart Thunderbird.
Expected results:
Proposal from
-
Missing hotkeys should be replaced by developers. They are desperately needed by everyone. Hide and display, edit, move here: Unify Toolbar, Menubar, Places bar.
-
Time travel: bring back the old menu and display at least somewhat, or expand the graphical settings considerably in this direction.
-
Accessibility should be rethought, reorganised, improved.

Please keep it one issue per bug report.
You also need to be specific. E.g. missing hotkeys I don't know anything about that. Menu bar on top is bug 1822991
