User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/118.0
Steps to reproduce:
In a POP account, I deleted and immediately restored an isolated spam mail
Actual results:
In the mail preview pane, the mail is displayed as if it was part of a conversation and as if I had selected the whole conversation (see first screenshot)
Expected results:
The mail should be displayed normally (see second screenshot)

Stranger : in the attached screenshot, I just deleted the mail above the one currently selected. As expected, TB selected the current one
- the status of the selected mail is still unread (not sure if this is expected)
- in the preview, TB uses again the conversation preview mode

I forgot to say that this last example is an IMAP account.

I also forgot to mention that in my second example, the mail is not a spam.

I just noticed another detail: in the last occurrence of this bug, when I select the conversation (which is made of only 1 mail), TB does not clear the unread status, even if I unselect it and reselect it. If I set manually the status to read then to unread again, the status stays stuck and still won't get cleared automatically.

Sorry for the noise, my last comment was unrelated to this bug

This happens even without deleting a mail first. I also reported bug 1859639 where it was suggested to try in individual folders instead of unified folders. I don't think I ever saw this bug in individual folders. Last time I found a mail with this bug, I went to see it in the individual folder, where it displayed correctly, then I selected it again in unified folder, and it now displayed correctly too. IOW, viewing a mail in it's individual folder seems to "cure" the bug.

This morning I had a new display glitch. In conversation mode, on a conversation from which I had deleted a few mails yesterday, the new messages were mixed with others, as if TB displayed the messages in receiving order, but with conversation mode indentation

I just noticed that selecting any other folder (like Sent or Trash) and selecting back Inbox fixes glitches.
Now using v115.7.0

Sorry, wrong bug, my last comment is not relevant to this bug.

I just reproduced the deletion bug, and so I checked that indeed selecting another folder then selecting again the Inbox fixes the mail display.
I have a hunch this may be related to bug #1859639 and maybe bug #1859640.

When referring to a bug report, please use bug NNNN rather than just the number or a URL, so that bugzilla can link up the bug status.
Alfred or Steve, can you sort out the various bug report relationships?

This hasn't happened since 115.9. I guess this bug is solved.
