when I try to installa JRE1.4.0 from the xpi as found in the Netscape plugins
finder, it stops saying: "can't find Netscape 6, please check the installation"
or something like this.
so I can't load applets in Mozilla1.2.1

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. search for JRE plugin with Netscape Plugins Finder
2. download the xpi
3. install it selecting Netscape 6.

Actual Results:  
I had to kill both Mozilla and the installer

Expected Results:  
well... I think he should finished the install process and load the applets...

Try downloading JRE from Sun site.

http://java.sun.com/j2se/downloads.html

It may work without problem.

xpi's from Netscape.com are for Netscape releases, not Mozilla. As Frederic
said, just download the latest JRE 1.4.1 from java.sun.com and install it.
