Steps to reproduce:

My Outlook.com Birthday calendar is synced via TBSync.

Actual results:

Birthdays are not being displayed on the correct date.

For example, if you create a contact in Outlook.com with a birthday of 12/7/1949, then sync with TBSync, the birthday will display on 10/30/2023.

Double clicking the event opens a window showing that the Start and End Dates are Monday, October 30, 2023. If you then click the "Edit only this occurrence", the same incorrect start and end dates are shown.

However, if you click "Edit all occurrences", the correct start and end date of 12/7/1949 appears.

Now, if you open the "Repeat" edit window and just click "OK", the problem is corrected.

I copied the event and saved the vcalender before and after the fix. The differences are attached.

I think this is a problem with the Thunderbird Calendar interpretation of the data. I suspect it is the missing "SEQUENCE:1" and default taken when that value is missing.

I beleive this problem appeared after my recent Thunderbird update to 115, but did not downgrade to prove this.

Expected results:

The birthdays should be displayed on the correct date.

This problem is also corrected by restarting Thunderbird, which implies this is not a problem with the birthday as presented by TBSync.

Expected results:

The birthdays should be displayed on the correct date.

I am confused. I am reporting a Thunderbird Calendar problem as demonstrated by the use of TBSync. Lightning does not show up as an add-on and according to Wikepedia, "With version 38 of Thunderbird, the Lightning add-on was integrated and preloaded by default;[5] since version 78 of Thunderbird (released 2020), Lightning is part of Thunderbird and no longer an add-on extension."

Also, https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/calendar/ has a link to report a bug, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Calendar.

I'm just trying to help by reporting the problem. Where should it be reported?

I did also report this to TBSync and referenced this bug report, but the behavior points to the Thunderbird Calendar as the problem.

You only mention it got that way through syncing with the add-on.
We can only do something about the issue if it's reproducible with only Thunderbird.

OK, I duplicated the problem, exported the event to a .ics file and tried to duplicate the problem by importing the .ics.

I was unable to duplicate the problem.

My conclusion is that since restarting Thunderbird clears the problem after a TBsync, and the problem cannot be replicated with a .ics file import using the same data, that the TBSync add-on is apparently not refreshing the calendar events after a sync.

I have added this conclusion to the TBSync bug report https://github.com/jobisoft/TbSync/issues/697.

Thank you for your direction.
