Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/118.0
Steps to reproduce:
I simply start Firefox to start browsing the internet.
Actual results:
a message keeps appearing to login to network under the toolbar/adressbar. Then a couple of seconds later the message disappears. A few seconds later it reappears and disappears again. This keeps happening over and over and over. On this message there's an X to close but it doesn't do anything. There is also a "button" to login to network but it doesn't do anything either. I finally got something to happen, got sent here to create an account. Didn't see the problem listed. and here we are. I am reporting it. I have also uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it. This message just will not go away !!
Expected results:
The message should go away. It keeps reappearing every time I open Firefox.
Why doesn't it just ask me what it wants me to do and let's get this over.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Networking' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

More details.....
I believe it's called "captive portal checks" or "captive portal detection" at least that's what the online readme thingy from Mozilla says it is.
The message says "you must login to access the internet" (the message that keeps popping up and away again
The button (the clickable one) says "Open network Login Page" which send you to the online readme thingy from Mozilla. It doesn't go to any kind of logging page to login to anywhere. Just a brief description about captive portal checks and some very basic information.
Thanks for the report. This sounds similar to some of the captive portal issues we've seen in the past. Are you able to provide a log of the behaviour so we can take a closer look?
Captive portal logs can be captured by using about:logging, adding the string CaptivePortalService:5 to log module string and selecting logging to a file. The output log can be emailed to necko@mozilla.com. Thanks!

@ Ed Guloien
This problem got so bad that I couldn't even log in to the internet regardless which browser I used. I then decided to call My I.S.P. to have a look.
After I contacted my Internet Service Provider, They came over to check things. They installed a MOCA filter to my router/modem. After a couple of reboots, the problem seems to have gone away. While the tech was here...he explained that (once again) "That old stuff is getting replaced with this Bigger, Better and Badder newer stuff over here". I guess I didn't get the email about it (Kidding around) :)
So these MOCA filters are going to be installed on hard wired stuff now. If it doesn't already have it built in, then you might need to get one.
I never checked to see if I had this problem with wireless (WIFI) connection.
