User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/118.0
Steps to reproduce:
This bug happens what seams to be randomly. If I open a new tab, all is well but on occasion, the whole browser on android freezes up (screenshot shows what it looks like) and I am unable to tap or do anything. Sometimes Firefox will just crash after repeated tapping. Sometimes the error reporting dialog box which I tap to share with devs also appears.
Actual results:
See screenshot, after that Firefox crashes.
Expected results:
Open new tab page like normal
bit of an update, seams to happen when one is typing with the keybourd shown then goes to tap the tabs button, then opens a new tab
to reproduce this bug, open a search on any website in the web browser. Tap search to bring up the keyboard, then tap the tab icon top right to switch tab and then the new tab page freezes up. i have attached a video showing what happens.

What version do you currently have installed? And can you put a detailed video showing the error? And what phone model do you have?

QA, are you able to reproduce this bug? I tested a Samsung Galaxy A32 (Android 13) and a Moto G5 (Android 8.1), but wasn't able to reproduce. I tried following the steps shown in the screen recording, returning to the homepage by swiping closed each of my open tabs.
Jack, do you have a third-party keyboard or any Firefox extensions installed?

I was unable to reproduce this bug on the 128.0.3, and 129.0 Firefox for Android builds.
Tested with Samsung Galaxy A14 (Android 13), and OnePlus 5 (Android 10).
I had inactive tabs, several opened tabs in normal browsing, set the orange wallpaper, set DDG as the default browser, and followed the steps provided by the reporter.
Jack, can you load about:crashes and comment here the links to the crashes?
Also, do you have a third-party keyboard or any Firefox extensions installed?
I'll leave the qe-verify+ label for further investigation.
showing same issue on a fresh install of firefox android for beta
I have tried disabling all addons and still get the same issue. I even downloaded Firefox beta and then went straight to duckduckgo.com as an example and still have the same issue. The keyboard is the standard Samsung keyboard and checking though logs there is nothing that shows up for a crash like this.

We've tested again with a Samsung Galaxy A53 5G (Android 14) device, and still unable to reproduce it.
I'll confirm this ticket, and remove the qe-verify+, based on the short video, and additional details.
Jack, can you test on Firefox for Android Nightly?

ok this is interesting as the bug does not seam to be present on nightly. i can only guess there is a fix for something else which nightly has that isn't in beta or stable.
Hope whatever it is makes it beta and then onto stable. If I know a patch on the way, then i can wait.
