Steps to reproduce:
- Go to https://support.mozilla.org/users/contributions and update your contribution areas
- Go to your profile
Expected outcome:
I'll be assigned to the specific contribution area groups (e.g. kb-contributors) and keep other existing groups that I'm part of
Real outcome:
I was removed from the trusted group

This is not a bug but the intended behavior.
This was part of the functional requirements when we redesigned of the /contribute
page. The new design introduced discrete functional areas for contributors and each functional area assigned a group to each contributor instead of the single trusted contributors
group. The new groups have or at least should have the same access levels with the old one. When a gets at least one of the new groups, we remove the old group as a way to gratefully migrate everyone to the new group schema.
