Steps to reproduce:
I received an email which I opened from the Thunderbird client on my Kubuntu laptop. There was a .txt file (which I was expecting), and when I went to open it, I got the pop-up asking what I wanted Thunderbird to do with these kinds of apps. When I went with System Default, I had another pop up (form my OS, or more accurately, KDE) asking me which application I wanted to use to open this. I actually saw Thunderbird on the list, so I just selected that, thinking I'd get a preview. Instead, it created a new blank email, with the .txt file attached. Weird, I'll just click the attachment I guess.
But then I get the same pop up. Only this time, selecting "use system default" skips the pop up, and makes a new email. I tried changing the settings to have it use my system text editor, but then nothing happens when I click it.
Actual results:
Selecting system default now only opens a new email.
Expected results:
I expected to get the dialog option again asking what I should do with this file.

Reporter,
Are you seeing this also with version 115.9.0 or newer?
