User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/118.0.0.0 Safari/537.36 Edg/118.0.2088.76

Steps to reproduce:

Click on a message in my inbox. The line becomes highlighted blue, which is the Windows system highlight color. Then I click on the message in the preview window or click outside of Thunderbird.

Actual results:

Clicking on the message, still in Thunderbird, keeps the blue highlighting on the top bars, the indication for the active window, but the highlight in the inbox list changes to a gray background. If I click outside of Thunderbird, the header highlighting turns to white, as an inactive window, and the message in the inbox continues to have a gray background.

Expected results:

When Thunderbird is the active window, the message line in the inbox should have the designated highlighting whether the focus is on the line in the inbox or the message preview or anywhere else in Thunderbird where the inbox is still showing.

Is this still an issue with version 128?

Flags: needinfo?(thunderbird)

This is still a problem with 115.12.2. Version 128 failed for me, so I cannot check it. I will do so after 128 becomes usable.

Flags: needinfo?(thunderbird)

This is the correct behaviour and already the same with older versions.
The focus is on the message and no more in the tree.
