Default to full headers for forward and save message. With normal headers, forwarding an email does not send the header, nor save headers to file.

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/119.0

Steps to reproduce:

Just change header view from normal to file. Try forwarding or saving a file. The full header will only save/forward when full headers are displayed. This is a serious bug.

Expected results:

headers should always be saved/forwarded.

Sorry, this should be Thunderbird.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::File Handling' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → File Handling

No, should be Thunderbird.

Moved to Thunderbird. If not correct please update.

Component: File Handling → Toolbars and Tabs
Product: Firefox → Thunderbird
Version: Firefox 119 → Thunderbird 119

Thanks for the idea. But full headers by default isn't going to be popular (not needed by most users), I don't find any previous requests for this, and will break existing user expectations. Therefore, I don't see us changing the current default behavior.

Summary: When headers are set to normal, forwarding an email does not send the header. Also the file header is not saved in a file save. Pretty bad bug!!! → Default to full headers for forward and save message. With normal headers, forwarding an email does not send the header, nor save headers to file.
