Steps to reproduce:

Minimizing/Fullscreening Firefox repeatedly

Actual results:

A bright white flash is produced for a split second, I uploaded a video of this issue occurring in slow motion to make the issue easier to see.

Expected results:

The page is full screened with no visible flash of color

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Audio/Video: Playback' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Audio/Video: Playback
Product: Firefox → Core

Only Vivaldi (and maybe Opera) have been able solve this problem.

Other apps seem to have this problem as well, not just browsers.
Interestingly Windows Explorer doesn't have this problem on opening a new window, but opening a new explorer tab induces a white flash.
VLC 4.0 has this problem and this is one reason why I stick with 3.0.

The question is:
Do these devs just not care, or do they just not notice, or do they value startup time over UX?

Hi, thank you for reporting this issue. I couldn't find the video you mentioned in the attachments. Could you please provide a link or upload it? Thanks!

I have also seen this bug, but I can't reproduce it consistently enough to capture it on video.

Redirect a needinfo that is pending on an inactive user to the triage owner.
:jimm, since the bug has recent activity, could you have a look please?
