Clicks in the window go to the window behind

Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/115.0
Steps to reproduce:
Upgrade Debian to latest thunderbird 115.4.
I use KDE with focus follows mouse. Moving the mouse over different parts of the thunderbird window moves the focus to the window behind.
For example, the hamburger menu button can not be pressed.
Also, if I expand the window to cover the screen height, most of the message pane seems to have "holes" in it, so the focus goes to the window behind. I can't scroll in the message with the mouse wheel. Just the window behind keeps scrolling up or down.
This is such a horrible version of Thunderbird. Have never seen anything like this. I've been using Thunderbird for many years, long before the version inflation began.
Actual results:
If I click in a window, I expect the click to go to that window, not to the window behind it.
Expected results:
All clicks in a window should go to the window.

I'm not able to reproduce this with the following configuration:
openSUSE Tumbleweed
KDE Plasma 5.27.9, with Focus follows mouse
KDE Frameworks 5.111.0
Qt 5.15.11
X11
Thunderbird 115.4.1 (64-bit)
Is it possible this bug occurs only with Wayland? staham, are you using Wayland or X11?

Staham?
Resolved per whiteboard
I found a workaround. However, I don't remember what that was. I think it had something to do with disabling some of the new graphical features, or similar. I'll check I can find it. I don't even remember which computer I had problems with.. Need to investigate.
