Steps to reproduce:

  • Enable Thunderbird desktop alert (not system notification)
  • Wait for desktop notification
  • Middle click notification to dismiss

Actual results:

The notification is not dismissed.
Note: The system type notification IS dismissed, but that notification type has drawbacks (clicking the system type notification doesn't take you directly to the email - at least in windows 11).

Expected results:

The notification should be dismissed when middle clicking it.

The issue i mentioned above (clicking the system type notification doesn't take you directly to the email - at least in windows 11) seems to be filed here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1669224

Why not simply click the [x] to close it?

Because I'm too lazy 🤦‍♂️
This is obviously a low priority issue, but the middle-click dismiss is the default for all other windows notifications, so it's just a slight annoyance to have Thunderbird act differently. It's an annoyance that i can deal with, but something i thought would be worth documenting.
