Steps to reproduce:
- I log in to bugzilla.mozilla.org, which I have not visited for quite a long time.
- I see a red circle about 1 notification I have, which is about NEEDINFO request for https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1774337. That bug seems to have been added by some spammer, and closed long ago.
Actual results:
I cannot remove the NEEDINFO request (nor comment on the bug page).
Expected results:
Ideally, such requests should probably end automatically when the bug is closed. In any case, there should be some way to close such requests, for the red notification to disappear.

This is a bugzilla.mozilla.org-specific feature.
Ideally, such requests should probably end automatically when the bug is closed
It isn't that uncommon for needinfos to be legitimately open on resolved bugs.
In any case, there should be some way to close such requests, for the red notification to disappear.
Agreed.
This should have been fixed by Bug 1847640.

I understand that it makes sense in some situations. However, it hardly makes any sense if the addressee of that request does not have the "editbugs" permission. The only thing I can do about this request is to look behind that red dot and see that somebody requested some info from me some year(s) ago; OK, I have see it, so what :)?

I agree, which is why I stated as such in comment 2, along with a reference to a bug that should have addressed this issue.

Indeed, Bug 1847640 is related to this one. However, the fix provided for that bug seems to allow just commenting on closed bugs. Please correct me if I am wrong, but commenting rights do not imply the ability to remove "needinfo" requests. It means that I would be able to add a comment, inwhich I would ask somebody with "editbugs" permission to remove that request. In my view, this is an unnecessary extra step. I have nothing to say about that closed bug, so I would prefer just to be able to remove that "needinfo" request on my own and forget about it.

Sorry for my previous stupid comment, of course my comment itself would clear the "needinfo" request. However, it does notwork anyway, i.e. I am still not allowed to comment on that closed bug.
