I think that it will be great that you add a "Delete all" entry in the context
menu that appears by right-clicking inside the URL bar.
There exists a problem in Linux: if you select any text with the mouse, it gets
copied into the clipboard (that's not the problem!!). Then if you want to copy
this text into the URL bar, you need to delete before the text that is yet in
the URL bar. If you select this text to delete it, it gets copied to the
clipboard. So the previous selected text (which you wanted to copy in the URL
bar) is lost.
Adding a "Delete all" entry in the context menu in the URL bar will solve this
problem. This button should delete all the text existing in the URL bar, without
needing to select it with the mouse.
  Thank you very much.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open a text editor.
2. Write some URL in the editor (i.e."http://www.microsoft.com").
3. Select the URL with the mouse. It gets copied to the clipboard. Now you want
to copy the URL in the mozilla URL bar.
4.Start mozilla
5.My homepage gets loaded (i. e. "http://www.mozilla.org")
6.Click in URL bar
7.Select the text in the URL bar ("http://www.mozilla.org")
8.Delete it.
9.Paste the contents of the clipbActual Results:
10. "http://www.mozilla.org" gets copied in the URL bar (but we wanted to copy
"http://www.microsoft.com")
Actual Results:
We could't copy the text that we have selected previuosly.(Workaround: do not
select any text in the URL bar and delete thist text character after character
(that's so boring!!!!!).

Expected Results:
Mozilla should have a magical "Delete all" button in the URL bar context menu,
so you can delete this text in a easy, fast and fast fashion.
there are simpler solutions suggested to solve this problem in for instance bug
24651 and bug 76010
IMHO this should indeed be marked as a dup of 24651
