User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/119.0

Steps to reproduce:

I have a great many main folders and subfolders. On startup, many new messages arrive and message counts are shown to the right of the main folders. When I open a main folder that contains new messages, I expect to see a new message count next to one or more subfolders.

Actual results:

I opened a main folder that showed a message count of one, by clicking on the ">". None of the subfolders of that main folder showed any message count. The subfolder that contained the new message was a subfolder of a subfolder.

Expected results:

Message counts should work on main folders, subfolders, and nested subfolders. Each higher level should show the total unread message count for all levels below.

Bug 1835548?

That bug is talking about multiple email accounts, and those accounts being expanded or not...

"Additional clarification: When I open a collapsed e-mail account, the total of unread new e-mails is shown in a 'bubble' next to the various e-mail folders and when collapsed the bubble is present next to the e-mail account name where it was not shown before expanding the e-mail [account]."

He's saying that the new message count is missing to the right of the unexpanded email account, and then when expanded and contracted, then the message count shows.

What I'm reporting on is one email account – actually I'm using the Global Inbox for multiple accounts. So I don't have multiple email account inboxes.

What I'm reporting involves the behavior of message counts on the main folders, subfolders, and nested subfolders. I'm seeing a correct message count on a main folder, but then missing message counts on one or more subfolders under that main folder.

Conclusion: These two bugs generally relate to message counts, but appear to be different bugs.

Please check 115.5.2 next week and report your results. Thanks.

Sorry for the delay.

Yes, this appears to now be working. I am running vers. 115.6.0.

Thanks for the update
