User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/119.0

Steps to reproduce:

Firefox updated to 119.0

Actual results:

When Firefox was restarted, I had to log back into my account, and my previous session was not restored. Now Firefox doesn't restore any sessions after being closed and reopened and there is no option to do so manually. The checkbox in settings to restore the previous session is enabled.

Expected results:

Sessions should be restored automatically

Experiencing the same issue here:

The issue will happen with or without non-private windows open.

"Open previous windows and tabs" option is enabled, and has been for years, and just recently it started misbehaving, it does not restore the previous session (tabs and/or windows).

I was trying a few things at once and came to the wrong conclusion earlier.

The final batch of tests concludes that Firefox will now not remember previously opened tabs on the non-private window if you close it while having a private window open at that time.

Maybe there's a magic sauce behind this extension since it apparently works better than Firefox's own tab management: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-session-manager/

Another important detail, the private window must have at least one tab open with an actual site loaded, having the default "blank" startup page isn't enough to override the tab management on the "normal" (non-private) window.

So, steps to reproduce are as follow:

1. Open normal window (non-private), then open 1 or 2 tabs with random webpages;
2. Make sure "Open previous windows and tabs" option is enabled in the settings;
3. Open a private window, then open at least 1 tab with a random webpage;
4. Close the "normal" (non-private) window;
5. Close the private window;
6. Reopen the normal window (non-private) and realize that none of the tabs have been reloaded.

This is not the first time that Firefox does this, but either this behavior has been occurring for a longer time and I just didn't happen to close the private window last.
