User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/119.0
Steps to reproduce:
In case it makes a difference, I run Thunderbird with
- 2 mail tabs,
- the calendar tab,
- the tasks tab, and
- the address book tab
open.
The folder display is All folders.
When Thunderbird starts, one of the mail tabs will be active. In this state, the Switch to folder widget works correctly.
-
With Thunderbird in some state like that described above, switch from a mail tab to the tasks tab. Thunderbird will load all the tasks (I show the tasks for the next 7 days).
-
Switch back to a mail tab.
-
Use the Switch to folder widget at the top of the Thunderbird window to move to a folder.
Actual results:
Nothing. The currently selected folder is still selected.
Expected results:
Thunderbird should show the folder selected using the Switch to folder widget.
Update: Switching to the calendar tab also causes the problem.

Do you still see this with 115.6.1 ?

Still there in 115.7.0.
Also still there in beta, last time I checked. That would have definitely been in v122 and probably in v123.
Checked today and this is in v123 beta 2.
Interestingly, at least in v123 beta 2, if Thunderbird opens on a non-mail tab and you switch to the mail tab, the widget works. But if you then switch to a non-mail tab and then back to the mail tab, the widget doesn't work any more.
Also, my main profile and beta profile are separate, so doesn't look like it is a problem with my profile.

WFM, please try latest 128 beta.
As discussed in https://thunderbird.topicbox.com/groups/beta/T03c2d8d0d870f1c7-M9f0c13bc9670501a3646619f/thunderbird-128-0b1-build-1, which is why I guess this bug is getting some attention, I already have.
This has been a consistent problem since I reported it, in both release and beta versions. And as I reported above, these have separate profiles, so it is not a profile issue.
Since it appears you're not having problems (I assume WFM is "works for me"), is there any testing that I can do that will show where the problem lies.

Assuming this is a regression, please find the regression range using https://mozilla.github.io/mozregression/
