I'm using the US Intl w/ dead keys keyboard layout. This uses the combination of " + aou for german umlauts, i.e. " is a dead key.

When typing in the URLBar, the suggestion dropdown opens. As soon as I hit the ", the dropdown vanishes. When I continue typing, the drop down reappears. Best described in the attached video.
This behaviour is observed on MacOS Sonoma, both on current Release and current Nightly.

If you toggle browser.urlbar.keepPanelOpenDuringImeComposition pref to true, does that solve the problem?

We should investigate if we can detect this differently from other IME composition events, and avoid closing the panel.
