Details

Steps to reproduce:

Debian sid/unstable with thunderbird 1:115.5.2-1

A message composed with Microsoft Outlook has the line below in the plain text part:

[cid:image001.png@01DA2E7A.4FC6B000]

Hovering over it, an imap:// URL ending with 11627?part=1.2&filename=image0001.png is shown in the bottom part of the Thunderbird window.

Now I am clicking on it to show it.

Actual results:

Nothing happens. The image is not downloaded. The console of the developer tools (Ctrl + Shift + i) shows the message below, when clicking:

HelperAppDlg.sys.mjs:165:15:

Missing window information when showing nsIHelperAppLauncherDialog: TypeError: aContext is null
    show resource://gre/modules/HelperAppDlg.sys.mjs:165
    open resource:///modules/AttachmentInfo.sys.mjs:378
    _handleMailboxLink resource:///actors/MailLinkParent.jsm:59
    receiveMessage resource:///actors/MailLinkParent.jsm:30
    (Async: JSActor query)
    handleEvent resource:///actors/MailLinkChild.jsm:38

Expected results:

The image should be downloaded.

Unfortunately, this message cannot be published.

I still haven’t had time to get an example message. Sorry.

For the record, this still happens with Debian’s thunderbird 1:115.8.1-1.

Which Content-Type: does the e-mail have?

Which Content-Type: does the e-mail have?

It has:

Content-Type: multipart/related;

Upgrading from thunderbird 1:115.13.0-1 to 1:128.1.0esr-1 the problem seems fixed.
