User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:120.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/120.0

Steps to reproduce:

I am running Thunderbird 115.5.2 on Mac OS 12.7.1 on a Macbook Pro M1 (2021).

  1. create a new event on a google calendar, title it "Test Event"
  2. Enter the start date 3 months from now (on 19 Dec 2023, enter 19 Mar 2024)
  3. click "Repeat->Custom..." to bring up recurrence pattern dialog box
  4. set recurrence interval to "every 2 days", set count to "create 3 appointments"
  5. Press the today button
  6. Press the today button again
  7. Press the today button again

Actual results:

After step 4, the first calendar displayed in preview is December 2024 (wrong year!)
After step 5, the first calendar display in preview is March 2025
After step 6, the first calendar display in preview is June 2025

Expected results:

After step 4, the first calendar in preview should be this month, December --> 2023 <--
After step 5, the first calendar display in preview is December 2023
After step 6, the first calendar display in preview is December 2023

Pressing the today button should make the calendar preview go to the current month (not relative to the date of the event)
