User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130
Build Identifier: Latest Mozilla (1.21) running on Windows 2000 (Windows ME)
This problem happened on my brother's Window ME system. We downloaded the
latest Mozilla on Dec 27th. Since he used Outlook Express, our first move after
install was to import his email. The process appeared to run flawlessly, and
the report generated by Mozilla looked great - but when we went to access the
inbox, there was no email present.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Bring up mozilla
2.choose the news/mail subsystem
3.import (from outlook)
Actual Results:
lots of disk activity
a full report of the import process, ie, 200 from inbox, 150 from mensgroup, etc.
No email was found in the inbox, etc.
Expected Results:
Some more info on the process, ie, location of temp files that contained the
results of the outlook to system extract. We could have looked at the
intermediate results for some clues as to what had gone wrong.
Bug being reported is "import from outlook failed". A secondary problem with
import was with the address book. All of the top level addresses were imported,
but all of the groups (mail-lists) were empty; the list name was present, but
the list contents (the email addresses belonging to list name) were empty.
Sorry to ask the stupid question, but did you expand the Local Folders tree and
look in there, rather than in the default email account? Also, is this
reproducible on a recent build (either your machine or your brother's)?
Summary: Import from Outlook fails; summary report looks great but NO actual email gets xfered. → Import from Outlook Express fails despite summary report success stats
nonresponse > invalid. Reporter, reopen with answers to comment 2, as well as
any further reproducibility info (e.g. behavior in current builds) and whether
the Outlook Express info was stored in a non-default location.
A note regarding 206822 and 189648 - they both concern Outlook, not OE.
Probably unrelated.
