User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/120.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
Normal Use for quote a while then open a compose window (reply, new, forward ..)
Actual results:
An invisible compose window "comes up". It can be made visible by getting the window manager to maximize it.
Expected results:
A normal size compose window should come up.
Additional compose windows may come up invisible or tiny. The tiny ones can be resized manually. The invisible ones are presumably coming up zero dimensions.
I can't reproduce on demand, but the longer Thunderbird has been running the more likely this will happen, and once it does it continues. This is running on Ubuntu 23.04 and Thunderbird 122.0b1 but has been happnening through quite a few Thunderbird beta updates.
It would be helpful to at least get help diagnosing it.
Still present on 124.0b4. Most typically the new compose window show up as a narrow and short vertical line right on the top left corner of the screen at the very edge. With a very precise mouse grab it can be stretched out from a zero width window to one of size determined by stretch, and then the length can also be increased by another stretch.
I can't reproduce it on demand, it just keeps happening from time to time. It would be helpful if there was a suggestion on how to diagnose it when it happens.

Even prior to two months previous, eg prior to version 120?

Check Error Console for errors and warnings. ctrl+shift+J

I've seen it lately, though rare. When I do I get a very small window, say 100x100 or something like that. No STR unfortunately.
Still getting it as of a few days ago. However, I just moved to a clean install of Ubuntu 24.04 from one that had been upgraded several times. I'll see if that changes the behavior in the next few weeks.
After a clean install on Ubuntu 24.04 I still ocassionally get a tiny compose window. Sometimes it has 0 width which makes it difficult to resize, other times it just a small square which I can stretch out. I don't know what triggers this other than the longer I run thunderbird the more chance of getting into the mode where all compose windows opened are tiny.
