Details
Build: 2002-12-30-04
Platform: OS X 10.2.3
Expected Results: Helper app shouldn't launch and attempt to open file that was
interrupted.
What I got: Real One player is launched and attempts to open file (which reports
a error).
Steps to reproduce:
1) Install Real One Player 9.0 for OS X
2) In Chimera, check 'Automatically open downloaded files' in Preferences-
Navigation - Downloads tab. Quit and relaunch App.
3) Go to http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/brownbag.html
4) Click on the volume 1 link. However before this transfer begins, quickly
click another link like volume 2 or 3.
5) By completing step 4, the first ftp transfer (volume 1) should appear as
interrupted in the Download manager window. But Real One player is still
launched and tries to open this file.

This problem also appears in a earlier build (2002-12-25-04).

I can't reproduce this; cancelling a download doesn't cause the helper to
launch. This was a problem in older builds -- are you sure you were running the
12/30 build?

Yes, I'm still able to reproduce this problem using the 2002-12-31-04 NB.
Another example of the issue is
http://www.mirrors.ausmac.net/AusMac/auslist.cgi?cobrand=generic&location=Graphics-SW/GraphicConverter
If you click on one of the ftp links, then before the transfer begin, click on a
different ftp link. The first link is interrupted, but I see Stuffit Expander
suddenly launch.

Oh, so you're cancelling really early on in the game (and not cancelling via the
download dialog).

Right, you just click on additional ftp links before the transfer occurs in DL
manager. I see this problem when I start a transfer and verify it occurs in the
DL manager. Then continue to click on other ftp links in quick succession, you
will notice they appear as interrupted status in the DL window. However with the
real player as the helper app, I noticed that it will launch after a transfer
was interrupted and attempt to open the file.

I see this bug often, on regular downloads of huge files like the 300MB Dec
developer installer from the ADC site, which for me, is prone to interrupting
during long transfers. After 100MB or so, I sometimes get a "broken pipe" error
sheet and the download status window says "Interrupted" but the half-downloaded
.dmg file is still launched into Disk Copy. Using 2003020607 or any recent build
I can reproduce by pulling the cable modem plug during a long download -
interrupting, not cancelling.

Based on my steps provided, I no longer see this issue in the latest NB
(2004010103) under 10.3.2.
