I use forced session cookies and rely on the password autofill feature for sites to recognize me. So, if restarted the browser (e.g. after boot) and want to visit sites which have personalized settings for me, I have to load the frontpage, wait for Mozilla to fill in my login, click login and have the page reloaded with my personalized settings. This takes some time, but this is acceptable for the much-increased privacy. However, Mozilla wastes far more of my time than necessary, by only filling in passwords after the page loaded completely and by not filling them in at all, if I press stop (the latter is bug 96131). This is especially annoying for heavy-loaded sites (e.g. the TV schedule site I use when the 20:15 movies start), because the full load (incl. all images) takes a long time then, although the login box is already loaded completely. The difference here is significant. So: 1. Fill in login as soon as the form is loaded completely, don't wait for the HTML page load to complete 2. In *no* case wait for the images to load before the login is being filled in. They are completely irrelevant and the complete HTML page load is certainly enough to fill in the login in all egde cases. 3. Fix/reopen bug 96131. Yes, a much-improved cookie management could mabye make this problem less severe in practice, but it would still exist, esp. for less often visited sites or for novice users who don't know about the cookie management or users who are too lazy for it. Ordinary users should never have to manage cookies, so I see them as different issues.
