Building on the work in bug 1822097 to re-arrange the loading, we can now change how the update system for OpenSearch works. Currently it is complex with a new engine object being created and used to get the updates, then data being transferred back to the original.
We can now simplify this by having a simple update function and loading the data directly into the original object.
