User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.0.2) Gecko/20021120 Netscape/7.01 Build Identifier: Any Any recent version of Mozilla (1.1 - 1.3 alpha), when trying to open an html document, mozilla hangs and never displays the page (or opens up the browser, just the splash screen). After the first execution (after installation), it loads up my homepage (aol.com) 75% of the time. This seems to only be on my machine (HP Notebook XE3 running WinXP). Java is installed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.double click on an html document 2. 3. Actual Results: mozilla splash screen appears and does not disappear. browser does not appear. Expected Results: displayed the page this all started when I was developing a java implemented webpage with mozilla composer. After attempting to view the source code, to no avail, the program seemed to freeze on the 'preview' option. I restarted my computer and from that point on, no matter what version i install, the problem persists. Might be my computer, but it still should be addressed.
Noticed that if Mozilla is open, it won't bring up a new window. Must be force-quitted, and then it functions as normal for that one window. After that, it must be force quitted to open a new window/file.
Reporter could you please try the following: * please create a new profile in mozilla. * please try a more recent build like 1.4a or a newer nightly * provide us with more detalied description of which html pages that load and which doesn't. * if you can reproduce it with one or more specifc files, please attach one of them to the bugreport as a testcase
