Change performed by the Move to Bugzilla add-on.

The issue was reported via the webcompat.com reporter. Since the issue is related to "Reader view", we have moved the issue. Please feel free to move the issue to the correct Product and Component.

Component: Audio/Video: GMP → Reader Mode
OS: Android → Windows 7
Product: Core → Toolkit
Hardware: Unspecified → Desktop
Version: unspecified → Firefox 115

This looks like we're selecting the wrong fallback glyph here, I think. On my Windows 10 and 11 machines using the latest Firefox, it looks like the x glyph is properly selected in Reader Mode. On Firefox Nightly on macOS, it also looks like the right glyph is selected as well.

It's possible that this user has different default font settings, or a different set of system fonts that might account for this. I'm afraid I don't have a Windows 7 machine anymore to test. :/

Hey tmaity, does any of our QA gang still have access to Windows 7 machines to try to reproduce this?

I was not able to reproduce the issue on Win7x64(Pro SP1) using Firefox build 115.7.0esr(20240115170312) I used both US and RU version but reader view displayed correctly 'X' from page https://a2-sm.ru/print.html . If there is more I can try please let me know. Thank you.

I think we're going to need to know more from the reporter - specifically, what system fonts they have installed. Unfortunately, this was reported anonymously using the WebCompat extension, so it's unclear how to get that information from the reporter (unless they manage to notice this comment having followed the GitHub issue link).

I'm going to mark this one as INCOMPLETE.
