VERIFIED DUPLICATE of bug 177618

Details

The Ctrl+Enter = "www.*.com" feature should only activate if the text in the URL bar contains no dots or colons. If the text contains dots or colons, Ctrl+Enter should act like Enter. It's easy to hit Ctrl+Enter or Shift+Enter in the address bar accidentally. For example, after pasting a URL (Ctrl+V or Shift+Insert), I sometimes don't lift Ctrl or Shift quickly enough before pressing enter. This bug is also present in Internet Explorer for Windows.
Sorry Jesse... this is a dupe of bug 177618, which has been marked INVALID, though WONTFIX seems more reasonable to me. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 177618 ***
