User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:122.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/122.0
Steps to reproduce:
This has been going for years, and reported by many such as https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/wcx854/firefox_tabs_not_loading_when_an_update_is_pending/
Simply using Firefox is enough for this issue to happen once the Firefox browser has an update pending install/browser restart.
This happens on the current stable and nightly versions since it has never been fixed.
Every single time websites stop loading correctly, or there is a MASSIVE performance hit (for example, when watching YouTube videos), there is a Firefox update that was installed and is pending a restart. Every single time.
After restarting, the issues are gone until Firefox installs a new update while the user is browser, which is pretty much daily.
This widespread issue has been going on for at least 2 years now.
Actual results:
MASSIVE PERFORMANCE DEGRADATION AND WEBSITES MAY STOP LOADING CORRECTLY.
Expected results:
NOTHING, IT SHOULDN'T AFFECT ANY BROWSING EXPERIENCE.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Toolkit::Application Update' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

We have had this problem reported multiple times, but no one has yet been able to reproduce the problem consistently enough to collect a profile when the problem is happening. Could you please provide a profile collected when the problem is happening?

I wonder if this could be because of Bug 1510262. It seems possible.

Were you able to get a profile we could take a look at?

We believe that this bug is fixed with bug 1510262, Fx 128.
If you can still reproduce with that fix, please feel free to re-open with a performance profile.
