User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 This is very annoying problem. Either I'm blind or Mozilla dosen's provide any "facility" (standard control? checkbox? or so) to turn off plyaing sounds. It's possibly not me only who have powerful audio connected to computer. Usually I listen to subltle classical/jazz - so mixer is rather at high. And some awful pages (or flash animations) plays those stupid sounds - that makes even my neighbour scared.... Ideal solution is like in KDE - that has separate mixer slider to let you "turn down" completly or only tune down the volume of sounds played. One day Mozilla MUST HAVE something like this. And sooner is better :) Internet Explorer has it since oldest versions. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Turn sound mixer to high position. 2. Enter: http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/ 3. Hoover mouse over rightside animation 4. Calm down with a long restul walk :) Actual Results: A scream that can make a dead alive... Expected Results: I have control over sounds played by Mozilla's browser (and possibly not only browser, but also flash links in mail?) Thanks Guys for good job :) With favourite Mozilla Browser :)
It's not possible for Mozilla to control if a plugin plays a sound or not. The plugin access the soundcard directly, not through Mozilla. All that it can do is disable some plugin at all (bug 94035) or disable sound that are <embed> (bug 24418) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 24418 ***
