Steps to reproduce:

Outlook calendar has this feature that a little icon appears in the next 7 days in the calendar showing the overall weather info (sunny, cloudy, rain, etc).
There have been a couple of such add-ons for Thunderbird and Sunbird: https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/thunderbird/addon/lightningweather/
but none of them work any longer.

You kind of get that using this service: https://weather-in-calendar.com/

Component: Untriaged → General
Product: Thunderbird → Calendar

Yes, this looks useful but it is not as nice as the solution in Outlook:

  • This takes a whole row in the day but the icons in Outlook at in the same row as the number of the day.
  • The row is not a the top of the day if there is multi-day event on the same day, which makes it look a bit jarring.
  • It does not automatically follow the location set in thunderbird.
  • It is not easy to manually customize the city once the calendar is setup. One has to remove the calendar and add a new one (or have multiple calendars per city)

The solution using https://weather-in-calendar.com/ does not seem to work reliably (possibly due to server issues) and it often shows "City not found".

I am now testing: https://www.meteomatics.com/en/weather-calendar/
