User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021212 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021212 When hovering the mouse cursor over any link, the status bar displays the target URL for a split second and then the status bar clears. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Find a link. 2. Rest the mouse over the link. 3. Notice the status bar. Actual Results: The URL dissappears almost immediatly. Expected Results: The URL should be displayed in the status bar for as long as the cursor is above the link.
I cannot abserve this behaviour with today's nightly build 2003010808. Whenever I hover over a link, the status bar shows the link target as long as the cursor is hovering over the link.
Does this really happen on all pages - this bugzilla page also? Are you loading other pages during that time or have all pages loaded? "Clears" means the status bar is empty afterwards? Did you only notice this bug lately or has it always been happening for you since the installation of Dec-12 version of Mozilla? Strange questions, I know, but I just did never see this. Bug 10645 sounds similar (no, I didn't forget a zero or something, that bug is ooold) but is only about while loading pages (and works for me).
Comment #2: Bug 10645 sounds similar indeed, but note that the status bar is overwritten there with the page load progress. Is this the case here? Reporter, maybe you have another page loaded in another tab that overrides the status bar. Can you reproduce this behaviour?
This bug doesn't show up using Windows 2000 (or Linux), just Windows XP for me. I tried it out on a couple of machines, and it showed up on all of them...but everything works fine on my roommate's XP machine. I'm thinking this is happening because of other software on the system. I'll try to find out what software is causing this to happen and then I'll re-post if I find anything. Sorry about the fuss!
