User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130

Dear Sirs-
I have my laptop setup to access work relaated files via IE with a proxy at
work and use Mozilla without a proxy set at home. When Mozzilla crashes and
opens the Quality Feedback Agent, I get the following meesage: "The error
message is The Agent is unable to connect the server. Please check your Proxy
Server settings or try again later." This suggests that the Quality Feedback
agent is relying on IE proxy settings rather than Mozilla's. When I change IE
options to no proxy, the Feedback Agent can then successfully deliver the message.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have IE setup to use a Proxy.
2. Crash Mozillaa
3. Get the error "The Agent is unable to connect the server. Please check your
Proxy Server settings or try again later"

Actual Results:
The Quality Feedback Agent continued to have trouble sending the feedback.

Expected Results:
Mozilla should use its own preference when the Quality Feedback agent is active.

This is simply a matter of pride to change.

This seems to conflict with bug 19271.

I never got this before, but I'm getting it in 1.4RC1 (2003052908), W2K.

I don't have any proxies set, even in IE (which I rarely use), AFAICT.

Talkback does use its own settings (under HKLM\SOFTWARE\FullCircle\TalkBack)
for proxy connections.

And, I am set up right now with IE on Win2K using a proxy and I can crash mozilla
and have it sucessfully submit the talkback report with no problem, with talkback
either set to use the same proxy or not.

How do I reproduce this? What type of connection do you have at home (e.g.,
dialup, dsl, cable modem). Maybe this related to some RAS setting for your
home setup.

I get exactlly the same message. I D O N O T have a proxy server. I am using JUST Firefox.

The Quality Feedback message NEVER gets sent.

Three years later I am having the same problem with Thunderbird version 2.0.0.18 (20081105). Using just Firefox with no proxy. . . . and the site fullcirclesoftware.com is still for sale.
