Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open up a new openoffice writer document 2. type the line "now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their party" into openoffice 3. Open a new mozilla mail message or window. 4. click in the messages body seciotn (so it is active) 4. Select the text in openoffice and drag it into the moziall message window into the main body. Actual Results: Garbage chinese characters and quesiton marks appear in the mozilla composition window dropped onto. Expected Results: It should have copied the selected text (with formatting) from openoffice into the composition window at the point dropped on. Mozilla 1.2 linux OpenOffice 1.0
dragging the seemingly garbled text onwards from mailcompose to Kate (KDE editor) pastes HTML code with UTF8 charset.
Coincidentally, my girlfriend, whose computer is running an almost stock redhat 8, just told me about a similar problem she is having with copy, cut, and paste. She is using Mozilla 1.0.1 and OpenOffice 1.0.1 and the symptoms are the same except that instead of dragging she is copying and pasting. In my confguration (Redhat 7.3, Mozilla 1.2(.1?), OpenOffice 1.0.1 this doesn't happen. I'm going to try upgrading her to Mozilla 1.0.2 soon and see if this still occurs.
is this still happening with latest OpenOffice 1.1b2 and Mozilla?
This is still happening with an hour old Mozilla build and OpenOffice 1.1.1
correction: dragging text is still bugged. Copy/paste works OK.
