Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:124.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/124.0

Steps to reproduce:

I reinstalled Firefox

Actual results:

It fixed the problem

I got the new Firefox version box late one night, a couple of days ago, and I clicked to install. The next day I turned on my computer and when the Firefox browser came up, it was totally blank with just the little box with the error message information. The browser was totally non-functioning, so I tried to fix it. I did not uninstall Firefox, I went to the Firefox website and clicked on it like I didn't have it. After it loaded, the browser came up and it has been working fine ever since.

Eastforkoutdoors did you tried to install a new version of Firefox, while there was one on your PC? Can you please mention what version did you have before install, also what OS is your machine running? Thank you.

Monica,
I went to the Mozilla website and clicked: Get Firefox browser - Mozilla (US). Then I clicked: Download for Desktop. Yes, Firefox was already loaded on my desktop, but it wasn't working.

My current Firefox Browser version is 124.0.2 (64-bit), so it would be the one before this one.

My O/S build is: 22631.3296
Edition: Windows 11 Home
Version: 23H2
Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22687.1000.0

I have a newer version of Win11 (O/S build 22631.3447) but I am not able to reproduce the issue on upgrade from 122.0.1 and 123.0 to latest 124.0.2 from mozilla site.
Setting the component for engineering input. Thank you for your report.

Hi, thanks for the report! This sounds like a consequence of an update failure. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any logs we can pull now that you've reinstalled. Still, it's good to hear everything works now.
