The someone is added twice or three times

Expected results:

Just once will do

This was tracked as #1596941 and closed by @mkmelin, but the issue persists. Happy to provide more information

There has been further fixes in the area. Please report back if you see an issue after bug 1874450 lands on version 115.

This sounds like a duplicate of bug 1858629 which is fixed in Thunderbird 115.5.1 release and from Thunderbird 121 beta on.
