But tab switching is quite fast. I have had already installed this mozilla version on this computer and it did fine. But one week ago I installed windows XP again, this time I dated it up to Service Pack 1. Could that be the reason? The PC is a Athlon 1600+ equipped with 256MB DDR RAM. I think, that should be enough "power". Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open 2 Mozilla windows 2.switch between the windows via tab bar 3. Actual Results: slow window switching Expected Results: fast window switching ;-)

There has been an issue with installng win XP SP1. Probably bug 173985
That issue regarded a crash/install problems. QA verified it fixed 2002-10-17, a month before his build was installed. Not a dupe of that bug, at least. Investigating.
Sounds very similar to a problem I had - when using NVidia driver 4.0.7.2 Details of this in bug 176940. Problem sorted for me using older driver or newer driver from www.nvidia.com
Benedikt, Do you have a geforce graphics card or other nvidia card. If so are you using the drivers updated by windows update?
The problem was really an old nVidia-driver, version 4.7.02 as already mentioned. the windows xp driver had the same problem. But now I installed a more recent nVidia-driver and it works fine :) Thanks for your help!!!!
