Phoenix build (yesterday's trunk) on Solaris 2.7/SPARC using Sun Workshop does
not animate GIF images - only the first frame of
http://autsch.rtl.de/herzschmerz/herzschmerz_ani_kl.gif is being displayed
(Mozilla animates the same image correctly).

Is this somehow related to bug 178656 ("animation does not render") ?

Worksforme on Windows and Linux. Phoenix developers don't work on solaris so if
you care about this bug being fixed then you'll have to fix it or find someone
to fix it.

Unfortunately yes, but only if I compile Phoenix with -xO3 (default is "-O"
(="-xO2") - so I guess it may be a compiler bug and/or an uninitalised variable
which gets "optimizsed"...

I think this bug could be closed or at least have it's summary changed. It's
been established that this is a compilation problem after all.

... lesson learned: Apply all compiler patches before reporting bugs... :)
