calendar does not alert when days before is many

Steps to reproduce:

I created an event with custom alert before day was 90.

Actual results:

The calendar does not alert me

Expected results:

The calendar should have alerted me.

When I set the alert before days to be smaller, i.e. 7, it is always working. The issue with larger number of days before alert, I have been experiencing several times. I have no idea where the threshold of working is.

There seems to be a limit of 30 days. Bug 1140035 describing the same problem already exists and has some discussion on how to change the behavior in the future.
