Device information

  • Firefox version: Firefox Nightly 126 (2024-04-10)
  • Android device model: Realme C35 (Android 12), Samsung Galaxy S24 (Android 14), Xiaomi mi8 Lite (Android 10)

Any additional information?

  • I suspected that this issue is caused by the cookie prompt.
  • This is a follow-up bug for Bug 1885125
Whiteboard: [fxdroid][foundation]
Priority: -- → P2

This issue is reproducible on Nightly 127.0a1 from 4/17, and on Beta 126.0b1.
Tested with Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra (Android 12), and Google Pixel 6 (Android 14).
Tested pages: yr.no, ansa.it, meteo.it.

I suspected that this issue is caused by the cookie prompt.

Agreed, I have that impression as well!

Related to kiosk checking on Android. On these websites at this check, this error is occurring:

04-30 12:27:45.780 13659 13686 E GeckoConsole: [JavaScript Error: "TypeError: can't access property "getService", Cc[aContract] is undefined" {file: "resource://gre/modules/XPCOMUtils.sys.mjs" line: 140}]

It seems that Android must not be compatible with kiosk mode. When trying
to fetch kiosk mode from the browser handler, on certain websites, possibly
related to cookie banners, then kiosk mode fails to fetch and causes an error.
