96k hz .flac not playing when a device's sample rate is set to 44.1k hz

Details

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Set audio device sample rate to 44.1K hz
  2. Play 96K hz .flac within firefox, either via a streaming app (plex) or natively in the browser
  3. Skip along the timeline to see additional behavior

Actual results:

Audio file plays for a very short amount of time then cuts out to silence, you can scrub through or click through the timeline to repeat the behavior.

Expected results:

The audio file should have played without issue
